Hi, I’m Mike Cave. ISABS was created from a simple idea. After more than 15 years working in the solar industry, designing, installing and commissioning systems for homes and businesses, I saw how confusing and sales-driven the process of buying solar could be. Too often homeowners are presented with a single proposal based on the products an installer sells, rather than a solution tailored to their needs.

ISABS was created to offer a different approach. I provide a relaxed, common sense and friendly way for homeowners to explore solar and battery solutions through a single point of contact. I independently design the most suitable system for your home and obtain three tailored proposals from trusted UK installers, allowing you to compare options clearly and decide if solar is the right choice for you.

My role is simply to give you clear, honest information so you can make a confident and well-informed decision.

  • Trusted UK installers only – All proposals come exclusively from fully accredited, MCS-certified, and reputable solar companies with proven track records, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with UK standards.
  • No sales pressure – We provide clear, straightforward information and comparisons with no aggressive tactics or time-limited offers, so you can make a fully informed decision at your own pace.

ISABS is built on more than 15 years of hands on experience in the solar and battery industry. During this time we have been involved in the design, installation and commissioning of renewable energy systems for both residential homes and commercial properties.

This experience has provided a deep understanding of how solar systems should be designed to perform efficiently, how different technologies compare, and what homeowners should look for when investing in solar and battery storage.

Having worked across many different types of projects, we understand that every property is different. Roof space, energy usage, budget and future plans all play an important role in determining the right system.

By combining practical industry experience with an independent approach, ISABS helps homeowners cut through the confusion and compare well-designed solar and battery proposals so they can make a confident and informed decision.

The ISABS Mission

Our mission is to provide homeowners with independent, honest solar advice and the ability to compare multiple proposals through a single point of contact. Our job is to give you the information you need to make a more informed decision about the right solar and battery system for your home.

For many people, the process of buying solar can feel confusing and overly sales-driven. Most installers can only offer one system using the products they supply, which means homeowners are often presented with a single option rather than a clear comparison. This can make it difficult to understand whether the system being proposed is truly the best fit for the property.

ISABS was created to offer a simpler and more transparent approach. We begin by designing a system specifically for your home, based on your roof space, energy usage and future needs. From there, we source three tailored proposals from well-established, fully accredited solar and battery installers. This allows you to compare equipment, system performance, warranties and pricing side-by-side, all without having to deal with multiple companies or high-pressure sales visits.

Our role is not to sell you a particular system, but to help you understand the options available and guide you through the process with clear, practical advice. By bringing everything together through one point of contact, we make it easier to explore solar and decide whether it is the right investment for your home.

The ISABS Way To Buying Solar & Battery

Initial Discussion

ISABS Source 3 Proposals

Initial Discussion

Your initial discussion with ISABS is designed to be relaxed, informative and completely focused on understanding your needs. This can take place in the comfort of your home or remotely via Microsoft Teams or Zoom, whichever suits you best. During this meeting we take time to understand how you currently use electricity, your future plans such as electric vehicles or heat pumps, and what you want solar and battery storage to achieve for you financially and practically. We will review your roof layout, available space, potential system sizes and explain how the technology works in clear, straightforward terms. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions, explore funding options and gain a realistic view of potential savings and performance, leaving you with the knowledge and confidence to decide whether moving forward is right for you.

System Design

ISABS Source 3 Proposals

Initial Discussion

Once your requirements are fully understood, ISABS carries out the initial system design based on your property, electricity usage and future plans. This design is then shared with both you and three very respected, long established and professional installers, ensuring complete transparency from the outset. Each installer is invited to provide a detailed proposal against the same agreed specification, creating a genuine like for like comparison. When the proposals are returned, ISABS reviews them carefully alongside you, clearly explaining the benefits, performance expectations and financial merits of each option. We then guide you towards the solution that best meets your current requirements and long term objectives, ensuring the final recommendation is based on what is right for you, rather than promoting a particular brand or manufacturer that may simply suit an installer.

We take the hassle out of getting solar and battery quotes.

ISABS carry out the initial solar design for your property, then source three fully tailored proposals from well-established, highly respected and fully accredited solar and battery companies from across the UK.

No multiple sales calls. No high-pressure pitches. No wasted evenings.

Just three clear proposals, one point of contact, and a simple side by side comparison so you can choose with confidence.

Deposit & Project Management

Comparing solar and battery systems shouldn’t mean dealing with multiple companies and high-pressure sales visits.

With ISABS, you receive three fully tailored proposals through one point of contact. Each proposal is based on the same independent system design for your property, making it easy to compare systems, equipment and costs side by side.

No competing sales pitches, no pressure to decide quickly, just clear options from well established, fully accredited installers, so you can choose the system that’s right for your home.

ISABS Review & Recommend

Deposit & Project Management

Deposit & Project Management

Comparing solar proposals can be confusing if you’re not sure what to look for.

At ISABS, we review all three proposals and provide clear, independent guidance on which system offers the best overall solution for your home. We assess system performance, equipment quality, warranties, installer reputation and long-term value.

You receive straightforward advice and a clear recommendation, helping you choose the right system with confidence.

Deposit & Project Management

Once you’ve selected your preferred installer and paid the deposit directly to them, the project moves into the preparation stage behind the scenes. The installer will begin the technical process, including submitting any required G99 grid application, confirming system specifications and ordering the solar panels, inverter and battery equipment.

During this stage you’ll also discuss practical details such as the best location for the inverter, battery and other equipment, ensuring everything is installed neatly and in the most suitable place in your home or garage.

All approvals, equipment and planning are organised before installation day, so when the installation team arrives everything is ready for a smooth and efficient install.

It ensures that both the equipment being installed and the company carrying out the work meet strict standards for safety, performance and workmanship. Using an MCS accredited installer is also essential if you want to access export payments such as the Smart Export Guarantee and benefit from recognised consumer protection schemes. At ISABS, we make sure that every installer we approach and invite to provide proposals holds current MCS accreditation, giving you reassurance that your system will be installed to trusted industry standards and perform reliably for years to come.

The Renewable Energy Consumer Code is a UK consumer protection scheme designed to ensure homeowners are treated fairly when purchasing renewable energy systems such as solar panels and battery storage. It sets clear standards around how systems are sold, how performance and savings are explained, how contracts and deposits are handled, and what level of aftercare and dispute resolution support you should expect. Installers who follow this code are committed to transparent advice, responsible sales practices and ongoing customer support. At ISABS, we prioritise working only with installers who align with recognised consumer protection standards such as the Renewable Energy Consumer Code, helping to give you added reassurance, clarity and peace of mind throughout your solar journey.

The Energy Ombudsman tick is a recognised sign that an energy or renewable installer is committed to fair customer service and independent dispute resolution. If a problem ever arises that cannot be resolved directly with the installer, you have access to a free and impartial service that can investigate complaints and, where appropriate, require corrective action, compensation or practical solutions. This provides important peace of mind when investing in solar panels and battery storage, as it means you are not left on your own if something goes wrong. Working with companies connected to the Energy Ombudsman helps ensure higher standards of accountability, professionalism and long-term customer care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@isabs.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Most solar companies can only offer one quote for their own system. ISABS works differently. We create the initial solar design for your property and then source three fully tailored proposals from well established, highly respected and fully accredited UK solar and battery companies. This allows you to compare options clearly, without dealing with multiple salespeople or sitting through several sales visits.

Every installer designs systems slightly differently and prices can vary significantly. By comparing three proposals side by side you can see the differences in equipment, performance, warranties and cost. This makes it far easier to understand what represents the best long-term value for your home, rather than simply choosing the first quote you receive.

Yes. After the three proposals are prepared and delivered to you, ISABS reviews each one and highlights the strengths, differences and overall value of each system. Our role is to give you clear, independent guidance so you can make a more informed final decision about the solar and battery solution that best suits your home.

Read What Our Clients Say

Joanne

I used Mike and ISABS for the installation of my solar panels, along with a Sigenergy inverter and battery system. From the very first telephone call with Mike through to the installation team completing the work, the service we received was second to none.

ISABS were friendly, relaxed and very easy to deal with throughout the whole process. Mike sourced three detailed proposals for us to review, we then discussed the strengths and benefits of each option before ultimately deciding that a Sigenergy solution was the right choice for our home.

Having a single point of contact from start to finish made everything simple and stress free, and the installation itself was carried out quickly and professionally. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Mike and ISABS to anyone considering solar and battery for their property.

Chris & Sue

We were recommended to speak with ISABS by a friend of ours, who had not actually used them personally, but whose father had. The idea of sitting through three separate sales presentations from three different companies really didn’t appeal to us.

Instead, we had an initial discussion with Mike over a Microsoft Teams call. He designed a system specifically for our home and clearly explained the strengths and weaknesses of options from Tesla, Sigenergy, Enphase, Hanchu and Fox. After reviewing everything in a calm, informative way, we decided that an Enphase system with microinverters was the perfect fit for our needs.

What truly set Mike and ISABS apart was the fact that they do not sell solar and battery systems directly. This meant the advice and recommendations we received felt completely unbiased and genuinely focused on what was right for us, rather than what someone was trying to sell. It was a very refreshing, friendly and professional way to do business. Thanks Mike.

Your Reccommendation Here?

Around 50% of our business comes through recommendations, something we’re genuinely proud of. Our aim is to grow this even further by continuing to provide completely impartial guidance to every prospective client. By presenting clear, unbiased options, we give homeowners the confidence and information they need to make smarter, better informed decisions when investing in a solar and battery solution.
